Alan Ibbotson

Alan Ibbotson, Changeologist, is on a personal mission to make work a great place to spend half your life.

His passion has always been the development of people and the ignition of vibrant, engaged work cultures. Emotional Intelligence principles are often at the heart of Trampoline leadership development, team development, cultural change and employee engagement initiatives, helping senior leaders align the hearts and minds of their employees with the nuts and bolts of company strategy.

Born and educated in the UK, Alan’s career in Training and Organizational Development spans 23 years and includes management positions at Hilton International, British Airways and The Hearst Corporation.

In 1997 he joined MTV Networks International in London and was quickly promoted and moved to New York to lead the coaching, training and organizational development for a large internal client base that included all of the revenue producing units of the company, production/creative and the international divisions. In 2002 he decided to take the leap of inventing a new name for himself – Changeologist, find a tribe who shared his vision, and start a quiet revolution in the consulting profession.

Alan considers himself a citizen of the world, both as an expat and through his extensive international experience leading organizational change efforts and training leaders in Japan, Indonesia, UK, Europe, US and Latin America. In his work as the founder of Trampoline, Alan and his team work with senior leaders in a wide range of industries – media, not for profit, apparel, professional sports, publishing, consumer packaged goods, branding/strategy and health and wellness. Clients include Sony Music, Meredith Corporation, KOBALT, Omnicom Media Group, OMD, Mediacom,  Take Two Games, The New York Jets, Ipreo, Major League Soccer, Accenture, JLL, Telsey and Company, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, PVH, Monte Nido and Affiliates, AMC Networks, Weight Watchers and Nestlé.

Four values drive Alan’s work and the work of everyone at The Trampoline Group:

Possibility: A love of difficult challenges and a passion for breaking paradigms.

Innovation: Fresh, creative, inspiring delivery that opens up new pathways to success.

Action: A unapologetic bias for getting great results in record time.

Enjoyment: A determination to have a great time and make sure the clients do too.

Alan is based in the city and lives in Ridgefield CT with his husband Steve, two adopted kids and three dogs. In his spare time he loves to throw the kayak and the bikes onto the car and take the family off on adventure-filled road trips.
